Releasing from the rhythm of the slow.

I woke this morning feeling the motion of the collective current re-awakening, as we prepare to move back outdoors and rediscover our new post lockdown world.

I can feel a sense of excitement to see my loved ones after a long hiatus, and also a stir of anxiety as my nervous system gently reminds me to move easily and consciously back to the pace of active life.

I’ve become accustomed to the subtle rhythms of the slow (or should I say super slow, as the volume of activity in my world has been winding down over the last few years). I feel so acutely aware of what my body needs moment to moment and have allowed the space and permission to honour it with grace. Surrendering to this extended pause has soothed my system in a whole new way.

I took some time to reflect on how I want to anchor this sense of spaciousness and capacity as I emerge from solitude, back into the active demands of modern life (something I highly recommend doing if you're feeling even the slightest sense of hesitation about the moving out of lockdown).

This list of sacred self agreements is how I intend to honour a new way of being and the lessons learned during this past initiation.

My Sacred Self Agreements.

~ My time and attention are a precious commodity that deserves to be treated with the same awareness and attunement as my body, mind and being.

~ Start everyday with ritual or ceremony. Even as small as chanting mantra or honouring the sunrise, these magic moments shape my connectedness of the whole day.

~ The answers I seek are always inside of me. Make the time to listen and find the jewels of my own wisdom.

~ Don’t give up on magic. Living a life that honours the waves of creation is a brave choice, but one that holds the mystery and magic that I long for.

~ Unequivocally follow my body’s innate intelligence. My body knows more than my mind and always leads me beyond my limited expectations.

~ Stay open no matter what. Rigid beliefs and attachments limit the capacity to receive. Openness and curiously create new portals of understanding, possibility and transformation.

~ Where there is yearning, there is deserving. Give myself permission to deserve the things I yearn for.

~ When the idea’s don’t come, they are coming. I learned this valuable lesson from Nick Cave and it always rings true. Let go of the push, the ideas will flow and fully form when we trust in the suspended stillness.

~ and finally, baths in the daytime are always a good idea.

How could your experience be more enriching by honouring the sacred self commitments that your heart yearns for?
